Walk and Roll to School

September 6th 8am-8:20am

Walk and Roll to School Day is generally the 1st Wednesday of the month. Help us save the planet by not polluting the air that day. Did you know that 50% of the Bay Area's Greenhouse gas emissions are from cars? Let's keep it cool (not hot) and walk or roll to school the first Wednesday of every month.

Coffee with the Principal
September 8th and 22nd, 8am - 9am

FREE gourmet coffee brewed fresh for you and hosted by Ms. Goodwin and our PTA.  Join us and connect with parents.  Our PTA makes the best coffee so go green and bring your own cup!  Spirit wear "Wolf Clothing" will be on sale as well: $15 for t-shirts, $40 for zip hoodies, and $35 for non-zip hoodies. You can also sign up for membership, drop off a donation, and sign up to volunteer at upcoming events.

Welcome to Maya Lin PTA

We're very excited about this school year! We're bringing back and expanding all of our popular programs from last year and plan on rolling out some new ones too. To make it all happen, we're going to need your help and support. September is our membership drive month and our goal is 100% membership and to raise $15,000 in direct donations from Maya Lin School supporters like you. We're asking for donations of $100 per family during September. Every donation counts, big or small, so please donate what you can. PTA membership and donation envelopes are in office and can be returned to the office or to your teacher. Membership is $12 per person.

What does the PTA do?
  1.  We fund a wide variety of programs that benefit all students, including field trips and transportation (Did you know it costs $800 to rent 1 bus for 1 fieldtrip?), the media center and library, science through garden education, music instruction, field day, assemblies, teacher grants and more.  More than $50,000 is raised each year and invested into the student's education and experience.
  2. We support free events that bring people together and build our community including Multicultural Night, the Halloween Haunt, Movie Night, Game Night, the Bike Rodeo and Parent's Night Out.
  3. We provide clear channels of communication so that you can find out what's happening at our school and have a forum to share your thoughts.
It only works when people like you volunteer your time and donate funds so that the PTA can staff and cover the costs of these fabulous programs.

3. Do NO EFFORT FUNDRAISING by earning free money for our school while you shop at Safeway, Amazon, Target, Lucky, Nob Hill.

4.  Volunteer!  It's fun and a great way to connect with other parents.

6. Attend PTA meetings, usually on the first Thursday of the month at 6:00pm.  Childcare and dinner are provided.
